Roscommon bring forward into starting side and Connacht winner into subs for Galway replay

Starting team named before Sunday’s trip to Castlebar.

ROSCOMMON HAVE BROUGHT experienced forward Senan Kilbride into their starting team for Sunday’s Connacht final replay against Galway.

Kilbride, who won an All-Ireland club medal with St Brigid’s in 2013, is named to start at full-forward instead of Enda Smith.

It was Smith who struck the only goal of last Sunday’s drawn game when he found the net in the first-half but he was withdrawn in the 41st minute with his brother Donie – who kicked the levelling point from a free late on – coming on to replace him.

Kilbride only entered the match with four minutes to go in Salthill but will start in Sunday’s replay at Elverys MacHale Park in Castlebar.

In another boost Roscommon bring experienced midfielder Kevin Higgins back into their squad with the Western Gaels player named on the bench.

It’s the first time the 2010 Connacht senior medal winner has featured on a panel since Kevin McStay and Fergal O’Donnell took charge.

Higgins underwent surgery on a shoulder injury at Christmas.
