ROBBIE LAWLER RETAINED the UFC welterweight title on Saturday night but only after a grueling rematch against Rory MacDonald in the co-main event at UFC 189.
Both fighters ended up needing hospital treatment after the fight of the night, which saw Lawler claim a TKO win in the fifth round. MacDonald, who had been ahead on points at the time, suffered a broken nose and a fractured foot, while both of his eyes were left severely swollen.
