WAYNE ROONEY SCORED for the first time since April to put Manchester United firmly in control of tonight’s UEFA Champions League qualifying play-off second leg against Club Brugge in Belgium.
Rooney has been struggling for form so far this season but he gave United the opener in the 2oth minute, finishing neatly from close range following a lovely pass from Memphis Depay.

Depay was involved again for Rooney’s second, releasing Herrera who set up the England striker to apply the simple finish with just over three minutes on the clock in the second-half.
Rooney wrapped up his hat-trick in the 57th minute after some excellent work by Juan Mata.
Ander Herrera made it four in the 63rd minute with his first Champions League goal.
Javier Hernandez stuck an 81st-minute penalty wide but United won 7-1 on aggregate.
