RONDA ROUSEY CONTINUES to break new ground for the sport of mixed martial arts.
Described by the magazine as ‘the world’s most dominant athlete’, the undefeated UFC women’s bantamweight champion is set to become the first Ultimate Fighting Championship athlete to feature on the cover of Sports Illustrated while being the main story as well.
Roger Huerta, a former UFC lightweight, appeared on the front of the magazine in 2007, but not as a cover model. Huerta was shown in an action shot advertising an article about the rise of MMA.
Rousey is currently promoting her autobiography, My Fight/Your Fight, and is scheduled to make the next defence of her UFC belt against Bethe Correia on 1 August.
