Rousey (12-1) will face reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes (13-4) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, 30 December, as the UFC closes out 2016 by welcoming back one of its biggest stars.
An Olympic bronze medallist in judo in 2008, Rousey defended the UFC bantamweight title with ease on six occasions before she was knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round of the main event at UFC 193 in Melbourne in November of last year.

The belt has since changed hands twice, with Holm going on to lose in March to Miesha Tate, who was then beaten at UFC 200 in July by Nunes.
A 28-year-old native of Brazil, Nunes is currently on a run of four consecutive wins. She bounced back from a third-round TKO defeat to Cat Zingano in September 2014 by defeating Shayna Baszler (Rousey’s friend and team-mate), Sara McMann and Valentina Shevchenko to earn her title shot earlier this year.
Dana White also claimed that if Rousey is victorious, she will move on to an eagerly anticipated clash with Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino, who has been victorious in two 140lbs catchweight bouts in the UFC in recent months.
