ROG enjoyed his Late Late one liner at the time... but it turns out his wife wasn't a big fan

The Irish rugby legend has apologised for his comment about his wife last Friday.

DURING RONAN O’GARA’S appearance on The Late Late Show last week he was asked if he was prouder of the number of points he scored during his time as an Ireland and Munster player or his five children.

His response to Ryan Tubridy drew howls of laughter from the audience but many speculated what his wife might have thought of the whole thing.

We got our answer today as a humbled ROG took to Twitter to apologise for the offence caused to both his other half and to the entire nation.

O’Gara will probably be on the coach tonight at least but in fairness to his wife Jessica, she didn’t seem too angry during this exchange with Alan Quinlan on Saturday.

But it looks like the extravagant suit ROG wore for the coverage of Ireland vs France may have been a punishment of sorts.

O’Gara’s effort is still only the second best apology ever given by an RTE pundit though.
