RISING CANOE STAR Robert Hendrick has won silver at the Youth Olympics in Nanjing.
The 16-year-old was beaten into second place by just eight-tenths of a second in the C1 Obstacle Slalom final earlier today.

Lucas Roisin of France won gold in a time of 1:18.179 with Hendrick following home in 1:19.047.
He said: “I gave it everything I had — I am delighted to have taken a silver medal.
“My training this year has been geared towards peaking at Nanjing. This is a dream come true.”
Hendrick’s win follows Ireland’s success in China earlier this week where Ciara Ginty and Michael Gallagher won boxing silver and bronze respectively.
The Kildare youngster is trained by three-time Olympian Eoin Rheinisch.
“Canoeing Ireland are delighted for Robert,” CEO Karl Dunne said.
“This Youth Olympic medal added to the silver medal won by Liam Jegou at the Junior World Championships has capped off a great year for our junior slalom athletes and will inspire them to more success in the coming years.”
