JOCKEY ROBBIE MCNAMARA tweeted out an encouraging update as he continues his recovery from a horror racing fall.
McNamara sustained serious chest, abdominal and spinal injuries during racing at Wexford on Friday, and underwent spinal surgery in Dublin’s Mater Hospital on Saturday.
He was described as “very stable and in very good spirits” following the operation and the 26-year-old confirmed that with a short message on Sunday evening.
“Like to thank everyone for the kind words,” he tweeted along with a thumbs-up picture from his hospital bed.

“Ribs and spine very stiff and sore but Op went well. Plenty of work ahead.”
