IRELAND INTERNATIONAL ROBBIE Keane has been named as one of football’s 500 most important players by World Soccer Magazine.

In the April 2015 issue of the magazine, Keane is named alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and erm, Bradley Wright-Phillips.

Ireland is one of 72 countries represented on the list in what the magazine describes as “our definitive guide to the world’s most important players”.

Despite winning the World Cup last summer, Germany have just 34 players on the list, while Brazil — who the world champions famously beat 7-1 in the semi-finals — have the highest representation (54).

While Keane makes the cut, other highly rated Irish players, such as Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy, are omitted.
