Chelsea’s players reportedly want the club to sign Joe Hart if Thibaut Courtois joins Real Madrid in the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez has been made a firm offer by a Premier League club, according to Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez. The 23-year-old is expected to leave Parc des Princes before the end of the transfer window, having struggled to settle since his move from Real Madrid. Retro Deal of the Day: George Weah to Man City

Soccer - FA Carling Premiership - Manchester City v Sunderland EMPICS Sport EMPICS Sport

ONE OF THOSE transfers that people forget about because Weah’s spell at City was so brief and uneventful.

The Liberia legend was at one point considered among the world’s best players, winning the Ballon d’Or in 1995.

After a prolific early spell in the Liberian domestic league, Weah went on to star for Monaco, PSG and Milan.

By 2000, however, the striker was past his best. In a loan spell at Chelsea, he scored three goals in 11 league appearances.

Yet it was Man City who subsequently signed Weah up on a free transfer. He promptly fell out with manager Joe Royle, and left the club after registering just one goal in seven league appearances.

Weah then had brief stints at Marseille and Al-Jazira, before retiring in 2003 at the age of 37.

Since leaving the game, the footballing legend has been involved in politics in his native Liberia, unsuccessfully running for the presidency in 2005.
