Two goals, two assists for Robbie Keane as LA Galaxy hammer Andrea Pirlo's New York City

That’s 15 goals for the season now for the Ireland striker.

ROBBIE KEANE SCORED twice and set-up two as LA Galaxy hammered New York City FC 5-1 on Sunday evening.

The Ireland captain continued his lean run of form with a second-half brace as Galaxy moved to the top of the MLS Western division with an emphatic win at the Home Depot Center.

After Gyasi Zardes put the hosts in front, Keane struck ten minutes after the interval before former Tottenham forward Giovani dos Santos added a third.

New York City, who were without Frank Lampard through injury but had Andrea Pirlo and David Villa in their ranks, pulled one back through the latter after Sebastian Lletget had extended Galaxy’s lead.

Keane then sealed the win in the final ten minutes with 15th goal of the campaign.
