'We did it, we made history' - Robbie Brady on THAT goal

Brady’s 85th minute header sent Ireland into the last 16.

“I DON’T REALLY know what to say, me head’s not working.”

The words of Robbie Brady when he tried to describe how it felt to score the goal that sent Ireland into the last 16 of Euro 2016.

The Norwich midfielder found his way into the box with five minutes left to play and headed home an inch perfect effort past the Italian goalkeeper.

“What a moment for everyone involved,” he told RTÉ after the match.

“We said we’d do a job for everyone that came out here today and we did it, we made history, we’re into the last 16 and we go again.”

“My body sort of carried my legs into the box and I just trusted Wes to put it where it hurts and I managed to get me head on it.

“I’m lost for words really, I’m over the moon, I’m emotional. It’s unbelievable.

“Just to have a look around to see what it means to everyone, what it means to me.

“I grew up waiting to play at this stage, dreaming about it since I was a little kid and to do it in front of my family there, it’s the best feeling in the world. ”
