RIVALDO IS OFFICIALLY a footballer again.

At the height of his powers, the former Barcelona man was arguably the best player in the world, and now, at 43, he fancies another crack at the beautiful game.

There was already speculation that he would return and the news was confirmed on Tuesday night, when he featured in Mogi Mirim’s 2-1 victory over Nautico in the Brazilian second division (highlights of which can be seen below).

Nevertheless, despite his side winning ultimately, the former Brazil international was perhaps not the influential presence that many expected him to be, as he was withdrawn after an hour, with the team losing 1-0 at the time.

However, perhaps the World Cup winner’s mere presence was enough to galvanise Mogi Mirim — the club which he is president of — as last night was their first victory in 11 matches.
