Rio Olympics liveblog: Day 7

Keep pace with the Irish competitors in Brazil.

Here are all the details of the Irish athletes in action today

A big day for Irish rowing and everything you need to know about Day 7 in Rio can be found in our Olympic breakfast preview.

Padraig Harrington is set to tee off in the golf shortly

The Dubliner had a mixed day yesterday, as he carded a one-under par 70.

Judy Reynolds conjures excellent display in the dressage

Judy Reynolds and Vancouver K put in a really solid performance there. She’s racked up a score of 74.09 in the dressage. She needs to finish in the top 18 to reach Monday’s Freestyle final. Here’s hoping!

Sinead Lynch and Claire Lambe about to go in the rowing

Fingers crossed!

Ireland in sixth place after 1000m

Sinead and Claire need to stay in touch – they’ve dropped a little bit in the last few hundred metres.

Sinead Lynch and Claire Lambe finish sixth in the lightweight double sculls final

It was a tough slog from the start but Sinead and Claire and be proud. Netherlands take the gold, Canada finish second and China claim bronze.

Gary and Paul O'Donovan are about to go in the lightweight double sculls final

Straight outta Skibbereen. Let’s go, fellas! Bring her home! Keep the eyes closed and pull like a dog!

Gary and Paul O'Donovan in fifth after 500m

It’s pretty tight and the lads are going well. Still a long way to go.

Gary and Paul O'Donovan in second after 1500m

Keep her lit, lads! Superb stuff so far.

Gary and Paul O'Donovan claim silver medal for Ireland!

Incredible! A medal for Ireland! What a performance from the boys!

Mark English has finished third in his 800m heat to qualify for the semis

Solid performance from English and that’s nice and composed. Just what he would’ve wanted.

Paul O'Donovan: 'We're a little disappointed we didn't come away with the gold medal'

Let’s face it – we were all waiting for this interview. And the O’Donovan brothers didn’t let us down. Incredible from Paul who says they’re ‘disappointed’ that they couldn’t catch the French team and claim gold.

Still striving for more even after an Olympic silver.

“Mick Conlan said he’d box the head off us if we didn’t get the gold”, he added.

Gary and Paul O'Donovan are about to be presented with their Olympic silver medals

We finished fourth in the rowing on two previous occasions – just narrowly missing out on the podium – but here’s some history being made.

What a moment for the boys from West Cork.

Seamus Power is going superbly in his second round and is tied for 8th

An update from the golf. Seamus Power is going really, really well.

-4 through 11 and he’s tied for 8th. Remember, there’s no cut to worry about but if he can keep up this momentum and get a little closer to the leader, Marcus Fraser, we could be set for a great weekend.

Meanwhile, Padraig Harrington is -1 through 8 and that leaves him on level par overall.

Annalise Murphy is about to set off in her seventh race of the Games

The Dubliner has the overall lead in the Laser Radial (dinghy) race and will be hoping yesterday’s rest day can help her tighten her grip with Dane Anne-Marie Rindom just one point behind when the 17.05 race begins.

Finn Lynch is a little further down the field in the men’s Laser Radial race. He’ll set off at 15.15.

Four more Irish sailors are about to begin their Olympic race week in Rio

Sakia Tidey and Andrea Brewster set off in the 49erFX race 1 in the next few minutes.

And making it six Irish sailors on the Brazil coast this evening are Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern in the 49er (Skiff) class.

Both races will go off at 17.05.

Seamus Power eagles the 16th!

You heard me!

An eagle two for Power puts him on -5 for the day and up to fifth place.

Scott Evans is about to begin his Olympic Games and it's live on TV

Evans is facing German opposition on the badminton court and you can watch it live on RTE right now.

All sailing currently abandoned in Rio

Time for patience as courses are re-drawn and organisers wait for the wind to settle.

Scott Evans wins the second set!

Marc Zwiebler looked in control throughout the first set in the badminton arena, but Evans has turned it around and had three shots to spare as he levelled the match up in the second.

BOOM! Scott Evans wins!

Evans battled from a set down to beat Zwiebler and boy is he enjoying it, ripping off his shirt and fist-pumping at the crowd.

Ah, here, Team Ireland's on a roll! Judy Reynolds (and Vancouver K) are through to the Dressage final

You can take a horse to water, but Judy made it dance.

After finishing 18th, Annalise Murphy is ready to go again in Race 8

The conditions have played havoc all over the bay today.

Annalise Murphy finishes 12th in race 8
