Richard Dunne may have played his last game of the season as QPR confirm ligament damage

The defender has been ruled out for up to three months.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS have been hit with a double injury blow with the news that both Richard Dunne and Nedum Onuoha face prolonged periods on the sidelines.

Dunne, who retired from international football last summer, sustained a medial cruciate ligament injury to his right knee during QPR’s defeat to Southampton on Saturday.

The Republic of Ireland international twisted his knee after a collision with Saido Mane late in proceedings at Loftus Road. He was forced off after receiving treatment and a statement on the club’s website confirmed the defender is is expected to be out for at least three months.

Dunne had previously hinted this year would be his last but last week stated his intentions to carry on after enjoying an extended run in the side.

Onuoha, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring injury against the Saints and will be sidelined for approximately 3-4 weeks.
