HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…

Having in the past bought Luka Modric and Gareth Bale from Spurs, Real Madrid are reportedly intent on raiding the London club again this summer for Dele Alli, who is rated at around €59 million (£50 million).

After Sam Allardyce confirmed his interest in the player, Crystal Palace are believed to be lining up a £7m (€8m) bid for Norwich Ireland international Robbie Brady.

Another Irish-qualified player, Brentford’s Scott Hogan, is being valued at approximately £15m (€18m) amid reported interest from Newcastle, while RB Leipzig are similarly keen on the Salford-born forward.

West Ham are also monitoring Hogan, while they could move for Southampton’s Shane Long if a move for Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe fails to materialise.

38-year-old ex-Chelsea star Frank Lampard could be set for a return to English football, with Crystal Palace and Brighton understood to be among the clubs vying for his services.

Man City want to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl, though they are not the only club interested in the 21-year-old star.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s future continues to be the subject of much speculation, with West Brom and Everton understood to have respective bids of £18m (€21m) and £19m (€22m) rejected.

Man City and Chelsea are both keen on Southampton centre-back Virgil Van Dijk, with the London club set to offer £60m (€71m) for his services.

Arsenal are set to make a £28m (€33m) bid for Bosnia and Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Retro Deal of the Day: Gianluca Vialli

Considered an incredible transfer at the time, arguably akin to some of the high-profile players moving to China today, Gianluca Vialli was a world-renowned striker who had just won the Champions League with Juventus at the time, while Chelsea were a mid-table English club.

Signed on a free transfer by then-player-manager Ruud Gullit, Vialli proved to be a relative success at Stamford Bridge, scoring 21 goals in 58 appearances for the Blues, while helping them win the FA Cup in his first season.

He ultimately fell out with Gullit and then replaced him as manager, winning the Cup Winners’ Cup and League Cup in his first season in charge, before being sacked in 2000 after a poor start to the campaign.

The ex-Italy international also had a brief, unsuccessful period as manager of Watford and now works as a commentator for Sky Italia.
