Louis van Gaal refuses to rule out Ramos move

The United manager also refused to confirm why David De Gea and Antonio Valencia visited hospital on their North American tour.

LOUIS VAN GAAL gave some clues that Sergio Ramos was still part of his transfer plans this summer but refused to be drawn on why David De Gea and Antonio Valencia visited a local hospital on their American tour.

De Gea is rumoured to be part of the deal the Dutch coach hopes will bring Ramos to Old Trafford but Van Gaal would not confirm just why the Spanish ‘keeper and Valencia were admitted to hospital.

“They have minor injuries,” the United boss said.

“They have visited the hospital this morning. That is confirmed. They cannot play against San Jose I don’t think, but we shall wait and see.”

When asked if his club were any closer to signing Sergio Ramos, Van Gaal said cryptically:

“I cannot talk about these rumours. I have said already in a lot of press conferences, it is a process. Maybe Mr Ramos is in the process. You never know.”

In other United news, while Bayern Munich remain determined not to part with Thomas Müller, the player himself is said to be interested in joining his former team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford.
