Raheem Sterling to tell Liverpool he wants to leave the club

20 year-old has already refused a contract worth £100,000 per week.

LATER THIS WEEK, Raheem Sterling will inform Liverpool that he wants to be sold this summer.

According to widespread reports across the British media tonight (read into that how you will), the 20 year-old will meet club officials later this week and tell them he wants to leave Anfield.

The attacker, whose current contract, worth £35,000 per week, ends in 2017, has turned down a £100,000 offer from the Merseyside outfit and gave an ill-fated interview last month in which he claimed the decision to do so was not motivated by money.

It’s believed Sterling told Brendan Rodgers he was planning on leaving the club shortly before Liverpool played Chelsea on the 10th May.

Sterling is due to hold discussions with Chief Executive Ian Ayre on Friday and is expected to reiterate his desire to move to another club then.

Liverpool have always insisted Sterling is not for sale but may now have to re-think their next move.

For Sterling, Manchester City would be the obvious next step though it’s believed Arsenal may also be interested in the England international.
