Quinn Roux drafted in for Ireland's summer tour

The South African-born lock has been added to Joe Schmidt’s squad for the games against USA and Japan.

QUINN ROUX WILL be in line to win his second Ireland cap this summer.

The Connacht lock has today been added to Joe Schmidt’s squad for next month’s Test matches against USA and Japan.

Roux has been drafted into what is now a squad of 32 players, made up of 14 backs and 18 forwards, ahead of their departure for the States two weeks from today.

Ireland will take on the USA in New Jersey on 10 June, before travelling to Japan to face the Brave Blossoms in Shizuoka on 17 June and again on 24 June in Tokyo.

Roux won his only Ireland cap to date when he started in last summer’s second Test defeat against his native South Africa at Ellis Park.

The Pretoria-born 26-year-old played all 80 minutes of Connacht’s Champions Cup play-off loss to Northampton Saints on Saturday.
