ANTOINE GRIEZMANN ASKED journalists to give Paul Pogba “a little affection” after the midfielder delivered another mixed performance for France in the 4-1 win over Bulgaria.
The Manchester United midfielder has not hit top form since completing his world-record move from Juventus and was overshadowed by Griezmann and Kevin Gameiro on Friday night.

The Atletico Madrid forward, however, defended his team-mate and claimed he is playing his part for the team rather than insisting upon being the star.
“Paul needs the affection of journalists so he tries to do his best, to give everything for the team,” Griezmann told reporters.
“He has a different game with Juventus or with Manchester now. He tries to play for the team and it takes time to do it.
Yes [I think there is a lack of affection for him], because every game you ask a bit too much from him. He needs, like me, like the whole team, a little affection from time to time.”
Griezmann did insist, however, that it was right to expect Pogba to control games from midfield for France.
“We expect him to make the team play, not that he scores goals from 50 metres,” he added. “He should be the playmaker of the team, not the scorer.”
