CLARE STAR PODGE COLLINS has ruled out a dual role with the county next season.
The 24-year-old, who missed the 2015 season with a cruciate injury but returned to play with both inter-county teams this year, made the announcement on Clare FM.

The 2013 hurling All-Star declined to comment on which code he would choose in 2017, however.
“I’d say I’ll just play the one next year,” he said.
“I suppose this year, just the way the fixtures fell with both teams getting to the quarter-finals… big games were on the same weekend.
“Like, the weekend of the Laois game and the weekend of the Roscommon and Galway game.
So playing two games in a weekend it’s unfair, I suppose, on myself and both teams so, unfortunately, I don’t think that’s sustainable so next year I’ll just be playing the one.”
In July this year, Collins helped the Banner to two big wins in the space of 21 hours when he scored three points for the hurlers in the win over Limerick to put them into the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
The following day, he came off the bench to steer the footballers to a win over Laois as they booked a last-eight berth against Kerry.
