The 26-year-old moved to Dortmund in 2013 from St Etienne but he has been enjoying his best season yet.
His first was a superb finish – delicately clipping the ball over the advancing Przemysław Tytoń after being brilliantly teed up by Gonzalo Castro.
He grabbed his second in injury time as Dortmund shrugged off successive defeats (away to Hamburg last weekend and the Europa League tie in Krasnodar on Thursday) and cut the deficit at the top of the table to eight points.
Aubameyang leads the race for the coveted Golden Shoe, ahead of the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Neymar, Thomas Muller and Jamie Vardy.
Despite having signed a new contract with Dortmund in the summer, he has been linked with a move to Barcelona but should his run continue, he’ll have many other suitors as the season draws to a close.
