There was an embarrassing fight between team-mates on the Phoenix Suns bench last night

Golden State Warriors made some history as they racked up another win before the All-Star break.

IT WAS ALWAYS going to be tough against the best team in the NBA right now but the Phoenix Suns didn’t help themselves last night when a fight broke out on their bench between team-mates Markieff Morris and Archie Goodwin.

The pair were their team’s best performers – sharing 39 points between them – but got into a heated discussion during an early timeout.

It was sparked when Goodwin seemed to disagree with what his elder team-mate had to say and pushed his hand away as Morris attempted to make a point.

From there, it all kicked off.

It may have inadvertently provided both with some added verve and energy as they put in excellent individual displays.

After the 112-104 loss, both players spoke about the incident.

“That’s part of being a big brother, being a leader,” Morris said.

Sometimes little brothers and big brothers get into it. That’s what happened – wrong place, wrong time. I’ve been with him for three years and I know him really well. I know his family. We’re really close. It happens sometimes.”

“We’re family,” Goodwin said. “It happens. I love him like a brother, he loves me.”

All’s well that ends well.

Meanwhile, the result extends the Warriors’ streak to 11 and they have the All-Star break to re-charge their batteries.

They’re next in action on February 19th against the Portland Trailblazers.

From 52 games, the Warriors have won 48 – the best record at this juncture in NBA history.
