There have certainly been many more players who halted the legendary Jonah Lomu, but those are the men whose efforts are remembered. The Kiwi wing was close to unstoppable at times during his career, but Stringer is one of those who brought him to deck in what was an improbable one-on-one victory.

As the 37-year-old Stringer gets set to start the latest chapter of his lengthy playing career with new club Sale Sharks, there’s no better time to look back on one of his many impressive international moments.

Looking forward to John Cooney coming to Ulster. He could surprise a few people if he stays fit and if he gets game time. Paul Marshall really always has been an impact player. It will be interesting to see if he can gel with PJ and how well he can develop.
