Guardiola makes heartwarming gesture to Ireland's Arter over loss of his child

“I’m so sorry for what happened, I wish you all the best,” the Man City boss said after the full-time whistle.

MANCHESTER CITY EARNED a 2-0 win over Bournemouth in last night’s Premier League fixture to move up to second in the table.

But there was a heartwarming moment between City boss Pep Guardiola and Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter at the final whistle.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss sought out the Ireland international and offered his condolences for the loss of Arter’s baby daughter before wishing him good luck on the upcoming birth of their child.

“I’m so sorry for what happened, I wish you all the best,” Pep appears to say.

“He offered his best wishes for me and my partner this week, which was an unbelievable touch,” Arter told the Bournemouth Echo.

“He is someone I have a massive amount of respect for. I watched his Barcelona teams – and look at his Manchester City side tonight.

“For me, he is the best manager in the world. I don’t think there’s anybody close to him and what he has achieved.

For him to offer that to me, I respected it and accepted it with a smile on my face.”

Arter has spoken openly in the past about the tragic death of Renne, who was stillborn in December 2015.

Thankfully, his fiancee Rachel is pregnant again and her due date is later this week.
