Paul O'Connell was keeping a watchful eye on Grenoble training this afternoon

He wasted little time in getting down to business on the training paddock.

PAUL O’CONNELL PRESIDED over his first Grenoble training session this afternoon as he begins a short-term coaching stint with the Top 14 outfit.

The former Ireland captain is in France this week to lend a hand to head coach Bernard Jackman and skills coach, and former Munster man, Mike Prendergast.

Grenoble recorded a 39-23 victory over La Rochelle on Saturday but preparation has already begun for this weekend’s trip to Oyonnax.

And Paulie wasted little time in getting involved on the training paddock as he lent his considerable expertise and knowledge to the forwards.

There was only ever going to be one man in charge.
