What are Ireland's players doing on their day off? Paulie has a laugh at the backs' expense

He was joking (we think).

IRELAND HAVE SETTLED into their new training base at the £105 million St George’s Park ahead of Sunday’s game against Romania.

Joe Schmidt’s squad were at Burton Town Hall last night to receive their official Rugby World Cup caps, and captain Paul O’Connell shed a bit of light on how different players will spend their down day this week.

“We’ve a day off on Thursday where a few lads are going to Alton Towers,” he explained.

“A few lads are going golfing in The Belfry.

“Some boys are going shooting.

“The backs are going shopping in Birmingham, I think…”

A couple of rollercoasters with Paulie and Mike Ross, or a trip to TK Maxx with the Kearneys? We could make our peace with either.
