ONE OF IRELAND’S finest footballers attended the All-Ireland Round 1 qualifier at Wexford Park yesterday to lend the Model County his support.
Ex-Ireland, Manchester United and Aston Villa defender Paul McGrath, who lives in Wexford, was there to cheer on Liam Dunne’s side but watched them beaten 2-22 to 0-20 by Cork after Conor Lenehane’s two first half goals.
Dubliner McGrath had jokingly apologised to proud Rebel Roy Keane with a tweet before the game:
Best of luck to Eoin Moore and all the Wexford Senior hurlers V Cork this evening.. I'm shouting for Wexford 😀 no offence Roy 😉 #hurling— Paul McGrath (@Paulmcgrath5) July 4, 2015
