Ex-Ireland international Paul Green earns contract with League One club after successful trial

The veteran will be plying his trade with Oldham Athletic this season.

PAUL GREEN HAS signed a one-year contract with League One club Oldham Athletic ahead of the new season.

The former Ireland international had been on trial at Boundary Park recently and impressed manager Stephen Robinson during a 70 minute friendly cameo last week.

Green, who won 20 caps for the Boys in Green, left Rotherham United at the end of last season and had been linked with a return to Doncaster Rovers earlier in the summer.

The 33-year-old played more than 250 games for Doncaster before enjoying spells with Derby, Leeds, Ipswich and most recently Rotherham.

After making his international debut in 2010, Green scored one goal for Ireland and made his last appearance during the Euro 2012 defeat to Spain.
