Waterford hurling semi-final postponed as a mark of respect to Paul Foley

The ex-Déise star passed away last week and Offaly GAA is mourning the death of Adam Mangan.

WATERFORD GAA POSTPONED today’s second county senior hurling semi-final as a mark of respect to Paul Foley.

The former county player sadly passed away this week and the fixture involving his former club Ballygunner and Fourmilewater has been put back until next Sunday.

A minute’s silence was also observed at Fraher Field before today’s semi-final clash between Tallow and Ballyduff Upper.

A former inter-county hurler and footballer with Waterford, Foley refereed colleges, minor and intermediate hurling games in Munster.

He was buried last Thursday following requiem Mass at St Mary’s Church, Ballygunner.

Meanwhile, tributes have poured in following the death of Adam Mangan over the weekend.

Mangan, 19, was regarded as one of Offaly’s brightest young talents.
