It’s been confirmed this afternoon that Tipperary will face Clare at the stadium on Saturday 22 July with a 3pm throw-in time.

The following day on Sunday 23 July, the clash of Waterford and Wexford will take place at the stadium at 4pm.

The stadium last hosted an inter-county match in July 2014 when Cork defeated Limerick in the Munster senior hurling final with the redevelopment taking place in the wake of that game.

It had been hoped that the stadium would be in a position to host this year’s Munster senior finals but it was announced in June that it would not be completed in time.

Both hurling quarter-finals will be televised live on RTÉ with that weekend’s Round 4A football qualifiers to be broadcast on Sky Sports.

It will be the first senior hurling championship meeting between Tipperary and Clare since the 2011 Munster semi-final, while Waterford and Wexford will be a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland quarter-final which was won by the Deise by 0-21 to 0-11.
