Pádraig Harrington is having an absolute nightmare at the Houston Open

No Masters return for the three-time Major champ this year.

PÁDRAIG HARRINGTON’S MASTERS hopes are dead in the water after a horrid start to his second round at the Shell Houston Open.

Needing a win this weekend to secure an Augusta invitation, Harrington was already in trouble and started the day on one-over-par, nine shots behind overnight leader Charley Hoffman.

Any faint chance was quickly extinguished with a triple-bogey eight on the fourth hole — when he put the ball into the water not once, but twice.

He followed up that nightmare hole with a bogey at the sixth, and then had another hole to forget at the eighth, first losing his tee shot and then putting his second ball into the water, eventually taking a double-bogey seven.

He’s currently on seven-over-par at the turn, tied for 136th place.
