Barnes joins Conlan on St Patrick's Day card in New York

Both Irish fighters will take to the ring at Madison Square Garden on 17 March.

PADDY BARNES WILL fight at New York’s Madison Square Garden on St Patrick’s Day next year.

The Belfast boxer has been added to the same card as Michael Conlan, who will be making his professional debut on the night.

Barnes confirmed the news on Twitter this afternoon.

The three-time Olympian signed with Macklin Gym last month and will make his pro debut at Belfast’s Titanic Exhibition Centre on 5 November.

Conlan, meanwhile, signed a deal with American giants Top Rank last month, and it was confirmed on Tuesday that he will make his debut on the main card on 17 March.

Opponents for Barnes or Conlan have yet to be named.
