Otamendi to City: Man City have added to their already impressive squad this morning. The Sky Blues have completed, as expected, the signing of Agentina centre half Nicolas Otamendi for around £34million from Valencia.
Otamendi said: “I am here to give my best, to fight game by game and push City to the highest peaks for as long as possible, and I wish we will be able to win several cups and titles. That’s the most important. To be here inside a club that looks so wonderful from the outside is a dream.”
On Song: Slaven Bilic is bringing Alex Song back to Upton Park. The Hammers boss says handing the Barcelona man a three-year deal is ‘a gamble’.
Vote for Pedro:United may have also missed out on Barcelona forward Pedro because David De Gea and Victor Valdes warned him about Louis van Gaal’s management style. The Spain squad WhatsApp group was up to 90 yesterday. Pedro now looks set to sign with Chelsea, who are managed by the cuddly Jose Mourinho.
Mind the gap: Yannick Bolasie may be topping up his Oyster card and heading north to Tottenham. Spurs are interested in the Palace winger and, according to the Mirror, Alan Pardew admits his player would be foolish to rule out a £20m transfer.
Joe Show: Joey Barton has yet to agree a deal with Nottingham Forest, according to the Daily Mail. And it might be all off.
Young Turks:Besiktas have made an enquiry to Arsenal about Mezut Ozil, according to one former board member. You’re grand, lads.
