Liverpool striker Origi will be back in time to face Ireland at Euros -- reports

The Belgium international was sidelined recently following a poor challenge by Everton’s Ramiro Funes Mori.

LIVERPOOL STRIKER DIVOCK Origi is set to be back in time to face Ireland at Euro 2016, according to reports.

Origi was stretchered off during the recent Liverpool-Everton clash, following a poor challenge on him by Ramiro Funes Mori, leading to fears that the youngster’s season could be over.

However, respected Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur today tweeted that Origi was set to be available again in 3-4 weeks and will not require surgery despite suffering an ankle ligament rupture.

This outcome would mean that the 21-year-old striker — who has 10 goals in all competitions this season, including five in his last five Liverpool games — would be back in time for Euros, while also having an outside chance of competing in the Europa League final, should Liverpool get past Villarreal in the semis.

Belgium open their Euro 2016 campaign against Italy on 13 June, before facing the Boys in Green five days later.
