TEAM IRELAND HAS the chance to add to its haul of one silver medal at the Rio Olympics on another action-packed day.

Judy Reynolds will compete in the grand prix freestyle final at 2pm, before London gold medallist Katie Taylor meets Mira Potkonen in the women’s lightweight boxing quarter-final at 3pm. A win for the Bray boxer guarantees her at least a bronze medal.

After winning her appeal for being tripped in Saturday’s heat, Sara Treacy runs in the women’s 3000m steeplechase final at 3.15pm. Elsewhere on the track, Thomas Barr takes part in the men’s 400m hurdles at 3.56pm.

Sailor Annalise Murphy, who finished fourth four years ago, goes into the laser radial medal race at 5.05pm in third place. Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern and Andrea Brewster and Saskie Tidey also go out on the water in Race 7 of the 49er and 49er FX respectively at the same time.

Then later this evening, Oliver Dingley dives in the 3m springboard (7.15pm) before Scott Evans faces Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in men’s badminton at 9.30pm.

Dingley is the first diver to represent Ireland at the Olympics in 68 years.

Dingley is currently sixth with four more dives to go.
