A pre-season friendly was delayed this afternoon for the most bee-zarre reason

Boundary Park was a hive of activity.

YESTERDAY WE HEARD of the drastic measures Aberdeen have been forced to resort to in order to deal with a swarm of uninvited guests.

The SPL club have had to hire a company specialising in the eradication and controlling of birds in order to combat an influx of seagulls at their Pittodrie ground.

And now it appears bees are causing another club problems with Oldham’s pre-season friendly against Blackburn Rovers delayed this afternoon.

A swarm of bees decided one of the goalposts at Boundary Park would be a nice place to set up camp and the Football League club were forced to call in beekeepers before kick-off.

Spectators weren’t allowed into the ground until the bees were safely removed but you’ll be buzzing to know the game is now underway.

The comments section is going to be a hive of activity with all your best bee puns…
