Ger, Wolly, and the lads took part in the GOAL challenge.

The Off The Ball team did the hurling crossbar challenge, with mixed results

One of them rattled the bar, but it was pretty unorthodox.

WHAT THEY LACKED in skill, they made up for in enthusiasm.

The hurling crossbar challenge is becoming the new charitable trend this summer, earning money for GOAL and providing plenty of humour along the way, as we see just how skilled some hurlers are, and just how unskilled non-hurlers are.

Newstalk’s Off The Ball team have had their go at the challenge, and despite some questionable technique, they still managed one shot between them, as Mayo native Nathan Murphy somehow landed one off the bar, despite some pretty questionable technique.

Honourable mentions go to Raf Diallo for coming close with a truly bizarre one handed swipe, and Eoin Sheehan for hitting the post with a cultured left-footed shot (the hurley was on the ground at the time).

And to carry on the movement, they’ve thrown out their nomination to The Sunday Game.
