IT’S FAIR TO say Brian O’Driscoll’s captaincy of the last Lions tour to New Zealand didn’t go according to plan, a spear tackle ending his involvement early in the first test.
But the four-times Lions tourist looked much happier about his involvement earlier as he handed out the jerseys to the match day 23.
That O’Driscoll looks particularly delighted to hand the captain’s jersey over to another Irishman, Peter O’Mahony, should be no surprise given that he was among the first to congratulate the Munster man following his appointment earlier this week.
It’s understood, the former Leinster and Ireland talisman urged this year’s crop of Lions to take their opportunity to make history as well as conveying the excitement amongst rugby fans in Auckland and back home.
