Barack Obama has invited Stephanie Roche to spend Patrick's Day in the White House

The announcement comes on the back of recent news confirming that Roche has signed with US side Houston Dash.

IRELAND’S STEPHANIE ROCHE will spend St Patrick’s Day in the White House after the star received an invite from US President Barack Obama to join him on 17 March.

Roche revealed the news on Twitter today, writing: “Absolutely delighted to be invited by @BarackObama to spend March 17th in @WhiteHouse #StPatricksDay #WOW!!!”

The announcement comes on the back of the recent confirmation that Roche has signed with US side Houston Dash.

The Irish international shot to fame when her wonder goal from October 2013 went viral, and it was subsequently nominated for FIFA Goal of the Year alongside James Rodriguez and Robin van Persie.
