DRIVING HOME AFTER nine hours of drinking is never a good idea, and 21-year-old Liam Knight compounded his poor decision-making when police pulled him over last month.
The Manly Sea Eagles prop was found guilty of drink driving in court this morning and the Sydney Morning Herald report police testimony that, after being pulled over, Knight sprayed insect repellent into his mouth in an apparent attempt to beat the breathalyser.
“Whilst seated the accused grabbed a can of Aerogard he located in the back seat and sprayed it into his mouth before police removed it from him.”
Clever.
Knight reportedly continued his indignance at the arresting officers until being formally charged, when he admitted: ‘sorry, it’s my fault’.
He has been suspended from driving for eight months.
