Nigel Owens to take charge of Munster's Pro12 showdown with Scarlets

The Welshman will referee his fifth championship final this weekend.

NIGEL OWENS WILL take charge of Saturday’s Guinness Pro12 final between Munster and Scarlets at the Aviva Stadium.

It will be the fifth time the Welshman has refereed the competition’s championship decider and will cap another remarkable year for Owens, who earlier this month was the man in the middle for the Champions Cup final.

After making his first appearance in the Celtic League back in 2002, Owens took charge of his 150th game in the competition earlier this season.

He will be assisted by David Wilkinson (IRFU) and Ian Davies (WRU) on Saturday while Neil Paterson (SRU) will serve as the TMO for this year’s final.

Munster’s clash with Scarlets kicks off at 6.15pm.
