Quaid also sat out the Munster SHC semi-final defeat against Tipperary but made his return in the qualifiers against Westmeath.

GOALKEEPER NICKIE QUAID has been confirmed as Limerick’s new senior hurling team captain for the 2016 campaign.
The Effin clubman replaces Donal O’Grady in the role as manager TJ Ryan plumps for a new team leader.
Limerick’s new vice-captain is Seamus Hickey, who was recently confirmed as chairman of the Gaelic Players Association.
Hickey has taken over this role from Paudie O’Brien, who was Limerick’s vice-captain in 2015.
