THE AMERICAN FOOTBALL boot is slowly creeping into rugby, and we’ve seen Drew Mitchell and Jamie Cudmore demo them in recent months.
The extra ankle support is a big factor for players, while they’re also quite light, unlike the heavy high-ankled boots worn in the 80s and 90s.
Cudmore wore a pretty extravagant pair of Under Armour boots for the Champions Cup final this season, and they were captured by Inpho the day before the game.
However, these look conservative when viewed alongside the pair that Western Force winger Nick Cummins wore this weekend.
With the Force supporting former Australian criketer Glenn McGrath’s breast cancer foundation with pink socks against the Reds on Saturday, the Honey Badger went all out to show his support, with a specially made pair of boots to match them.
Again opting for the high-ankled Under Armour boots, he went for a bright pink approach, with some silver detailing making them stand out pretty clear.
