More NFL in England! Twickenham to host at least three games starting next year

NFL and RFU agree three-year deal to run until 2018.

TWICKENHAM WILL HOST at least three American football games as part of a new agreement between the NFL and RFU.

The deal, which kicks in in October 2016, will see at least three games hosted over the three-year period with the option for two more.

English rugby’s HQ becomes the third London stadium to agree an American football partnership.

The NFL confirmed last month that it is extending its two-game per season deal with Wembley Stadium until 2020 at least, while another two games will be hosted each year at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium when it is completed.

“We are delighted to welcome the NFL to Twickenham – a stadium that has played such an integral role in what has been the biggest Rugby World Cup ever,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, RFU Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer.

“The NFL has a strong and growing fan base in the UK, and this, combined with the investments we’ve made in our stadium will give fans more opportunities to experience the action first-hand at a world-class venue.”

The Carolina Panthers are 7-0, but they didn’t make it easy for themselves last night
