Neil Robertson made some snooker history on Sunday...and a LOT of money too

After the dramatic choke at the UK Championship last week, we finally got a 147 in the final.

NEIL ROBERTSON RECORDED the very first maximum break in a UK Championship final earlier today and took home a nice little bonus of £44,000.

The Australian beat China’s Liang Wenbo 10-5 and claimed the title for the second time, raking in £150,000 for his troubles.

The superb clearance came in the sixth frame, with Robertson forcing his opponent into a foul following a difficult snooker.

So, rather uniquely, Robertson won the frame 151-0 thanks to the additional four points attained courtesy of Wenbo’s error.

It was only the third time he’s recorded a 147 in his career and will earn him 44,000 as long as Wenbo doesn’t make a maximum himself later in the match.

Earlier in the tournament, Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh was all set to clear the table but incredibly missed the final black.
