NBA REFEREES HAVE vented their frustration at a report on an officiating call that was made in the final seconds of a clash between the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks during the week.
The Bucks edged the tie with a last gasp basket to give them a 105–104 victory.
In the Bucks/Knicks report, a comment was made in relation to Bucks guard Giannis Antetokounmpo committing a five-second violation in the closing seconds of the game, which resulted in him scoring the winning basket.
The report states that the foul is “detectable with a stop watch,” a comment which NBA referees did not appreciate and they made their feelings known on Twitter earlier today.
NBA says 5-second violation, but is only "detectable with stop watch." We'll be sure to bring that with us next time. More L2M absurdity. https://t.co/xSnwsKXzym
Referees have previously called for an end to these two-minute reports as have NBA players, including Kevin Durant, who said that it’s unfair “that the NBA throws the refs under the bus like that.”
