Some iconic former players will take charge of the Munster Inter-Provincial teams this year

John Mullane and Tommy Dunne have been named as hurling selectors with Anthony Daly as manager.

THE MUNSTER INTER-PROVINCIAL football and hurling sides won’t need much motivation this year after a number of former heavyweight players were announced as part of the management setup across both codes.

Ex-Clare captain Anthony Daly will take charge of the hurlers, aided by selectors Tommy Dunne (Tipperary) and John Mullane (Waterford).

Between them, the trio have won 3 All-Ireland titles and 9 provincial crowns.

Munster’s football side will be managed by Cork’s Gerry O’Sullivan, who’ll be assisted by Limerick legend John Galvin and five-time All-Ireland winner Tommy Griffin.

Last year, Munster suffered defeat in both their opening games against Connacht.

This time around, they’ll face Leinster on December 5th.

The hurlers are in action at Pearse Park in Galway while the footballers are set for Pairc Esler in Newry.

Throw-in times for both games are to be confirmed.
