The Munster Council confirmed that the format will remain the same for a third straight year, where this season’s finalists Kerry and Tipperary will be kept apart for the semi-finals.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF Tipperary’s shock Munster SFC semi-final win over Cork yesterday will reverberate into 2017 as the Rebels count the cost of defeat.
Tipperary, who stunned Cork with a narrow 3-15 to 2-16 win in Thurles, will now receive a bye to the Munster semi-finals next season, along with Kerry.
The Munster Council confirmed that the format will remain the same for a third straight year, where this season’s finalists Kerry and Tipperary will be kept apart for the semi-finals.
Cork, along with Limerick, Waterford and Clare, will enter an open draw for the two quarter-final ties.
It means that Tipperary could make the 2017 Munster final without playing either of the province’s traditional powerhouses.
