Moreno apologises to Shaw for tackle, tweets 'I know how you feel' at United defender

The Mexican fractured his leg at the 2014 World Cup.

HAVING FRACTURED A leg against the Netherlands at last yearโ€™s World Cup, PSV defender Hector Moreno knew immediately that something was wrong after his tackle on Manchester Unitedโ€™s Luke Shaw.

The England defender underwent surgery in Eindhoven last night and Moreno took to Twitter to wish him well in his recovery:

Moreno also apologised for his part in the incident, telling reporters after the game:

โ€œI donโ€™t know what happened, I donโ€™t remember. I just feel really bad because I was involved in the accident. I feel really sorry.โ€

Speaking after the match, United manager Louis van Gaal said:

โ€œItโ€™s horrible. When he was going in the dressing room, he was with the oxygen mask, he was crying,โ€

Asked how long he thought Shawโ€™s recovery would take admitted he could not put a timeline on it.

โ€œI am not a doctor, so I canโ€™t say. A double fracture, it generally takes six months, but you can never say in advance.โ€
